Several years before Cee-lo had the bright idea to work the f-word into a pop song title, there was Eamon: a singly-named Staten Island dude so embittered by his failed relationship that he was compelled to drop f-bombs — whinily and often — in his sole hit. Of course, this resulted in a stuttery radio edit.

While I can see the song being a salve for the violent heartbroken, the awkward video (maybe “corny” is appropriate here?) really ruined this one for me. I certainly hadn’t imagined Eamon singing into his ex-girlfriend’s face at a pizza parlor. Ick.

And now for Wikipedia fun facts!

1. “The song earned Eamon a Guinness World Record for ‘the most expletives in a #1 song.’
2. “Some of the songs written by Eamon are in the style called Ho-Wop, which blends the smoothness of R&B with the grittiness of hip-hop.”

ha, ha, and ha
