I’ve mentioned San Francisco’s Thee Oh Sees here on DYTMHIF before, but I’ve been spending so much time listening to their latest album, Carrion Crawler/The Dream, that I figured they warranted another glowing post. I also really wanted to share the record’s neon-skull-intestine cover art, for obvious reasons.

TOS are easily one of the best rock groups currently making music, not to mention one of the most prolific. Crawler is scrappy, manic, and unpolished, and there’s not a wasted second on it. What there is: guitars that gurgle and gasp, and an electrifying frontman at the helm. John Dwyer’s vocals are so authoritative, every line sounds like it’s being delivered with one hand on his hip and the other thrust into the air — grand proclamation after grand proclamation.

Needless to say, they currently top my must-see-live list. IF YOU ARE READING THIS, COME TO BROOKLYN

other things you can do:

> Check out their website, which looks like an NES game. And by that I mean Maniac Mansion or something

> Read this interview with vocalist/keyboardist Brigid Dawson and guitarist Petey Dammit! The exclamation point is part of his name, although I do feel enthusiastic about it
