don't you tell me how i feel.

Tattoo you by Steele

The trailer for David Fincher’s upcoming adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has arrived, and boy, is it badass. The mood feels completely punk-rock in a way that seems true to the books. It looks thrilling.

Of course, the real reason for posting this is that it gives us at Don’t You Tell Me How I Feel a taste of what our man Trent Reznor has been working on for the movie’s soundtrack. Reznor, who you may recall won an Oscar for scoring Fincher’s The Social Network last year, was an ideal fit for that job. He seems even better suited to this story, what with its murder mysteries, shocking violence and gothy protagonist. Here, he and Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs cover Led Zepplin’s “Immigrant Song” to fantastic, pulsing, industrialized effect. Get a load of that vintage Nine Inch Nails shredding! I’m starting to think “retiring” is the best decision Trent ever made.
