TImber TImbre is music for speakeasies. It’s a little bit Nick Cave, a little bit Morphine. Singer Taylor Kirk’s sultry, ominous voice is the critical piece, turning sweetly plinking pianos sinister. In short: sex and death, pretty much.

The new record, Creep on Creepin’ On (I actually can’t imagine a more astute title), starts off with “Bad Ritual,” which sinks you deep into their creepy smoke-filled den. You’re alternately repelled and attracted. The rest of the record follows suit.

I was disappointed to hear from a friend that their live show is less than inspiring. A sit-down sort of affair, you know. BUT THIS SONG STILL RULES
